Boss Cabins Deep Green Canteen Office Dry 24
With sustainability and net zero operation increasingly important on UK worksites, we created our DEEP GREEN 2030 welfare range which runs almost all the time entirely from solar power alone with no fuel costs, no on-site emissions and no generator noise.
This 24ft Canteen Office and Drying unit is the largest welfare cabin in the mobile Deep Green range and provides an extremely flexible and functional workspace catering for a variety of uses in one easy-to-tow unit. As well as a fully-equipped Canteen for up to 13 users, a separate quiet Office for two people, and a dedicated area for drying wet dirty clothes, this high-spec unit also boasts twin female and male toilets.
Easy to transport, fast to deploy
This large-capacity road towable welfare unit meets all HSE on-site welfare standards. With a twin axle build, the unit is safe and easy to transport and a 4-ram hydraulic deployment system means it is fast to deploy in under a minute.
Solar powered
Power is provided by an array of 16 solar panels on the unit’s roof with energy stored in a large lithium ion battery. For most of the year, this is sufficient to power all electrical operations in the cabin (figures verified by Carbon Footprint). Field data shows that during spring, summer and autumn months, Deep Green units are running 100% from solar alone and even in winter, solar is providing 80-90% of the unit’s energy needs.
Near zero emissions
Due to the use of solar energy backed up with a tiny generator that runs on HVO biofuel, virtually zero on-site CO2 emissions are produced, contributing to a clean, healthy worksite environment and enabling cabins to be used in emission-sensitive areas such as ULEZ and other city centre sites.
Patented generator
If extra power is needed to charge the battery during the darkest winter months or if the cabin is parked somewhere out of direct daylight, a small 3.5kVA RedBox Infinity generator is fitted which will automatically start up and run for a short period to charge the battery. This patented generator only needs servicing every 2000 hours of generator run-time, 8 x less than industry standard.
Rain harvesting & water recycling
A unique patent-pending Waste Management ProTM system harvests rain water from the roof. This water is sterilised and used for hand washing. Grey water from the hand wash is then recycled to flush toilets, reducing the amount of fluid waste going into the tank. This minimises the need both for water refills and waste tank pump outs and can extend toilet service intervals to over 4 weeks.
Remote 24/7 online monitoring
All data on the Deep Green units’ energy production, energy consumption and generator runtime is being monitored and recorded 24/7 so at any point you can know exactly how much carbon/fuel/emissions these units are saving. Perfect for environmental/carbon reporting, giving accountability for sustainability targets.
Effective service planning
In addition, users can remotely access cabin location and tank levels for fuel, fresh water and waste so servicing can be planned precisely avoiding wasted visits or downtime on cabins. Cutting out unnecessary service visits means further financial savings as well as reducing the environmental impact from service vehicles.
Sustainable long-lasting
All Deep Green cabins are built from stainless steel which is 25% stronger than mild steel as well as lasting far longer. Deep Green cabins come with a 25 year anti-corrosion guarantee – giving a x3.6 longer life than mild steel cabins which only have an average useful life of 7-8 years. Cabins are over 97% recyclable at end of life.
Highly specific
Despite being the most sustainable eco-friendly welfare cabins in the market today, Deep Green units offer a more ‘high-end’ than ‘hairshirt’ experience. In fact, they are more highly specified than almost all other welfare available, with luxury finishes such as catering-grade stainless steel worktops, hygienic no-touch low-power hand dryers, an abundance of USBs and plug sockets plus tasteful chrome fittings throughout.
